Computer literacy

 Computer literacy is the knowledge and ability to use computers and related technology efficiently. 

Computer literacy is important because:

• Many educational resources, assignments, activities, etc require computer use. 

• Almost every profession today requires an individual to be computer literate. 

• It also allows learners/students to engage with a wider range of learning resources, including online courses. 

• Helps students or an individual develop critical thinking skills.  

• Helps one solve problems.

Types of computer literacy 

1. Information literacy- set of abilities encompassing the reflective discovery of information. 

2. Procedural literacy- ability to read and write processes.

3. Digital literacy- ability to find, evaluate and communicate information using typing or digital media platforms.

Computer literacy is essential in today's digital world, as it equips individuals with the skills needed to effectively use technology for personal, educational and professional purposes.
