Bullying in Schools

 Bullying is a repeated aggressive behavior which is intended to cause harm.

Learners/students who are bullied often feel threatened and powerless. 



Types of bullying 

• Physical bullying- involves hitting,pushing etc.

• Verbal bullying- includes insults, name-calling

• Social bullying- involves spreading rumors, excluding someone from the group, etc.

• Cyberbullying- occurs online or through digital devices such as threatening messages. 



Prevention

Schools should educate learners, teachers and parents about the signs of bullying and its effects. Schools should have clear anti-bullying policies and procedures in place to address this issues/incidents. Promoting a positive school environment and encouraging a culture of respect can also prevent this kind of issues.
